Newborns and Infants

Being born is hard work.  Even with an uncomplicated delivery a lot of stress and pressure is put on the newborn’s neck and head.  Stress and trauma are compounded with the use of forceps, vacuum or cesarean delivery.  Studies have shown that the vast majority of newborns and infants have misalignment in their upper necks.  This is crucial to have corrected because it places pressure and irritation on the brain stem, the part of the brain that controls all basic bodily functions of life.  Symptoms of a misalignment may include difficulty latching or nursing, torticollis or wry neck, colic, reflux, constipation, and delayed development.
