Preparing for Pregancy and Birth

We spend a year planning our dream wedding, shouldn’t we do the same to plan our dream birth of our child?

Wedding planning is super stressful. And to be honest, so is the first year of marriage. By the time you become pregnant - maybe in your first year of marriage - you are ready to relax and take it easy. Ya know, when you aren’t hugging the toilet.

If you are like me, you planned your wedding for MUCH longer than a year. My husband and I were engaged for 2 years, so I did light planning for a year. The second year was full of active planning that took a lot more time.

The same should be true for planning a birth. The months and years leading up to your pregnancy should be light planning. You can improve your diet, clean up your beauty products, move your body more, start or continue with chiropractic care. You may have a hormonal panel done if you have period irregularity or have been on hormonal birth control.

Preparing the body for pregnancy creates a healthy and happy womb to grow a baby. When you prepare yourself physically and emotionally, you will find that pregnancies come easier. Conception might be quicker, your energy might be higher, and your morning sickness might be lessened.

All these things sound so simple, but they aren’t easy. Healthy eating takes planning and work. Replacing toxic chemicals that you use in your home and on your skin takes time and investment. Seeing a chiropractor requires commitment. Exercise requires time and effort. That is why I recommend doing all these things BEFORE you try to conceive. Taking a year to make changes to prepare your body, mind and soul for a pregnancy reduces the stress so that you can rest easy if the morning sickness and exhaustion hits.

So here you are, thinking about your future babies. What step should you take first? Make an appointment with your prenatal chiropractor and start the process. Here at Early Beginnings we start with chiropractic care and ease into to the other changes. Change takes time, and wellness is a lifestyle. It’s worth the investment, and your body and your baby with thank you!
